  • It was a lazy summer afternoon and I was making my usual rounds in the children's section of my local library. As a nine year old, I found this book, picked it up, and checked it out thinking it maybe had something to do with dragons and magic given the title. I was wrong, but this mistake turned out to lead me to a book I have read time and time again even as I got older. Set in a small town in summer, this is the story of SB and Finis, two opposites yet friends who use a fantasy game to masquerade the tragedies of real life.

The writing is good and prose-like, the characters are likable and the story is one that will endear in your heart for many years to come. I only wish it was available for my Kindle.
