Edward Packard (born February 16, 1931) is an American author, in addition to his work as a lawyer, essayist, and poet. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Columbia Law School. Packard came up with the original idea of writing second-person fiction, in which the reader makes choices that affects how the story unfolds, while thinking up bedtime stories for his children, who each clamored for a different ending to his stories.

Sugarcane Island book. Sugarcane Island isn't Edward Packard at his scintillating best as a writer, in such gamebook gems as The Cave of Time, Deadwood City, Invaders from Within, Who Are You? and War with the Mutant Spider Ants, but it provides some fun moments along the way. What I like best about the book is how You can fall into seemingly the same situation a number of times, but always be faced with a different set of choices and a different adventure to take.

A Which Way Book starring you the reader who decides what to do at each chapter with thrills and dangers on every page. Shipwrecked on a small island, the reader is given various unique and fun choices throughout the story. Each choice changes the direction and outcome of the adventure! Many potential adventures and nice illustrations make this book very fun for young people ages 9-14.
