Loving Angela Barrett, I feel disappointed that she was wasted on a pile of similar anodyne "ghost stories" such as these. There were some good ones, though. I was most impressed by the story by John Gordon. I most enjoyed "Nule," "Little Nym," "Grandmother's Footsteps," and "A Forever Friend. Of course, these are also some of the creepier ones!

Now, with the explosion of the horror/Halloween market, it seems the perfect time to resurrect Ghost Stories. I remember reading this book when I was little, and I absolutely loved the stories and the illustrations. I am so glad that I was able to find a copy of this now so I can include it in my storybook collection. The stories themselves are not too long, but they are interesting enough to make you stop and reflect for a few minutes after you've read each one.
