Kids' Book Of Hockey: Skills, Strategies, Equipment, and the Rules of the Game. This book provides a brief introduction to soccer, at the right level of detail for those new to the game. My 11-year-old son found the summary of the rules and strategies quite helpful. The book not only talks about the rules and strategies but it has some good history on soccer. In addition, thanks to the book my husband ended up coaching a season of soccer and I backed him up as team manager and coached a few games myself without that deer in the headlights look.

Hockey Canada rules define the majority of the amateur games played in Canada. Hockey Canada and USA Hockey's rule books differ primarily in technical matters such as the severity of penalties handed out for various fouls. USA Hockey defines the same for the United States (US). IIHF rules differ a bit more due to the differences in the dimensions of North American hockey rinks from those in the.

Did you ever have a question about hockey, America’s fastest-growing major sport? Kid’s Book of Hockey is the first book that’s organized in an easy-to-use question-and-answer style. Among the more than 700 questions and answers here, you are sure to find whatever you want to know about penalties, scoring, rules, strategy, or even the history of the game. More than a quarter million people play amateur hockey; more than 13 million attend NHL games; countless fans attend youth, high school, and college games; and millions more watch hockey games on television in the United States and around the world. This is a book for all of them, as well as for the millions of youths who set up a rink in their driveways and take turns manning the goal. Read it yourself and test your knowledge of the game! “Whether you’re a player, parent, fan, or coach, this book will help you to better understand the game of hockey.” —Don Vaughn, hockey coach, Colgate University“The game of hockey has needed a book like this for a long time.” —Bruce Gardiner, former hockey player for the Ottawa Senators “You don’t have to begin on page one—just dive in any place that interests you. What a great way to learn about hockey!” —Bill Hanson, former head coach of Boston’s Catholic Memorial High School hockey team
  • I'm fairly surprised this book has such a high rating. It's a book about the NHL or College game from 20 years ago. For a Kid (and parent), expecting a book to address the topics from the title "Kids' Book Of Hockey: Skills, Strategies, Equipment, and the Rules of the Game", this is an awful book.

90% of the content is about watching the pro game and the history of the pro game, provided in an uninteresting series of random questions and answers. If your child actually PLAYS hockey, the book is worthless. There's very little here that is appropriate for youth hockey.

Especially misleading is the picture of the kid playing pond hockey.

  • My son is a ten year old hockey player. Loves the book. Did not put it down. Read it several times. It is written for that age group, and in an entertaining way. He is now re-reading it. Good book.

  • Good instruction.

  • We needed the rules and techniques so we could work with our 8 year old hockey player. Was looking for a street hockey book but none seem to exist. this was the best [skating] I could find. Basic rules.

  • Bought this for my 10 year old grandson who loves hockey. There is a lot of information that can be overwhelming but can also be a valuable tool. Was a reasonable price and speedy delivery.

  • They like to read things they are interested in.

  • This is a wonderful hockey book for kids and adults new to hockey. Well laid-out with interesting facts sure to hook any hockey enthusiast. A must read!

  • This book has much good information in it, explained simply, easy to understand.
