His Kids First columns appear in a number of newspapers across Canada and the United States. While I believe in Dr. Ressel's thoughts on chiropractic care, I found Dr Ressel's writing style a little harsh for my tastes. The reason I didn't give this book a 5 was because I don't think he is helping his cause by calling the established medical practitioners quacks. I think there is room in the medical office for both forms of medicine to work in tandem.

If you have been looking for a more natural, more effective, and far safer way to care for children, Kids First: Health With No Interference will prove to be a valuable reference book as well as a lively bedside read.

  • Very simple read.. lots of great information and directs you to more research articles as well.

  • Amazing, super educational book!!

  • The best book for new parents on how to raise a child without interference of the medical profession. I recommend this book for my patients with young children and grandparents, too!

  • This is a great book with lots of great new insights of alternative health care emphasis. For the reader from ontario who complaint about the idea of non-vaccination, and for being contra-chiropractic, i suggest you read these books as well: (1) WHEN HEALING BECOMES A CRIME by Kenny Ausubel, (2)VACCINATION AND BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS - A REVIEW OF THE CONTROVERSY
by Greg Wilson. Foreword by Harris L. Coulter, Ph.D.; (3) CHILDHOOD VACCINATION: Questions Every Parent Should Ask
by Tedd Koren, D.C.; (4) VACCINES: ARE THEY REALLY SAFE AND EFFECTIVE? A Parent's Guide to Childhood Shots
by Neil Z. Miller, George Schwartz M.D., etc.; (5) CHIROPRACTIC AND SPINAL RESEARCH: 2000 Edition
    by Tedd Koren, D.C.

  • I truly believe that a child's (or adult's) spine should be addressed as part of their overall health. As any chiropractor will tell you - and you can see for yourself, _everything_ runs through the spine. It makes sense that a misalignment would cause problems.

  • Most of the material seems to be borrowed from other sources and the writing style is beyound basic. This chiropractor assumes that people can not get past his antiquated "research". I would not waste the 30 minutes it takes to read this book, which it looks like no one else is.

  • Every parent should read this. Dr. Ressel is inspirational; his book causes you to think! He and MANY chiropractors avoid vaccination...and I get it...drugs are not the answer to everything!
