The Men's Health Training Log has a lot of good ancillary information such as: training tips, food advice, etc. Once again the problem is the log itself. Under the Exercise heading there is one column for weight and then multiple columns(3) for reps. this is a great book but you need to be able to write really small because the boxes/spaces to input your workouts are very small. they also need more rows because some of us pyramid our workouts so we have to use a new line for a new set/weight setting.

  • The reason I'm even looking for a workout log is because the classic, "Weight Training Record" by Jim Bennett can not be easily located. The Men's Health Training Log has a lot of good ancillary information such as: training tips, food advice, etc. Once again the problem is the log itself. Under the Exercise heading there is one column for weight and then multiple columns(3) for reps. Just above that section is the heading for 'sets'. As in 'set 1', 'set 2', 'set 3'. That's it. The assumption is that: (1) you will maintain the same weight throughout; and (2) that you will only do a total of 3 sets for each movement. This is not the way most people train. This particular log is useless for me but it might work for a newbie. The good thing is I only paid $2 - $3 dollars for it. I think I'll just design my own from now on.

  • Has some nice workout tips in it, but the actual logbook is not very useful. A blank notebook would be just as useful. I read through the tips once, like readingn issue of Men's Health but did not use it as a log book. Like a magazine that gets read once and discarded.

  • This is a great vehicle for recording progress and maintaining motivation. This is the best concise log that I have ever used. This is my second one. I also enjoy the tips provided in the right margin.

  • It's true. When you keep a log, you're more inclined to follow it and produce better results. This is the perfect tool for the gym. It gives me a progressive track of my gains and keeps me in check.

  • Great book full of good info too... in 52 weeks I will be back to buy it again ...I don't think I will ever work out with it ever again....it would make a great gift
