  • This book has very usable basic exercises for kung fu,qi gong, and tai chi.The auther is honest and knows that learning internal arts from a book without teacher is very diffucult,so he choose exercises that are easy enough for readers to learn without a teacher, this is a very honest approach. The book does not give long theories and long explanations, the day you have the book you can directly begin to study.Good photos clear and just enough explanations. Some people may think that the exercises in the book are too simple yes they are not diffucult exercises, but repetative practice through a long time, days months even years of training these exercises develop a strong foundation for kungfu,qi gong, tai chi.And you will be so strong and healthy that you never dreamed off.Yes it is this much easy, long practice of some simple exercises with incresing the intensity buy either doing more repetions or more exercitions but not practicing 2 day on and 3 day off, this is the secret. The ancient Shaolin training main strategy was this, some simple exercises practiced over a long period of time by increasing the intensity. The book may be baught with The Tao of Health and Fitness Kung fu Masters Workout together by the same auther which is also a very good book. Not modern wushu has but the old real Shaolin kung fu has the main exercises for the monks are 1 Ba Duan Jin,2 Yi Jin Jing,3 breathing exercises,4 streching exercises, this is also what this book have.I recomend the book,it is much better than most off the books abaut qigong which are now popular on amazon com because they are westernized watered books. I am a current student of Shaolin Tagou Student from China

  • Photos, instructions and notes are clear - you will be able to do the exercises (perhaps not all of the advanced routine) by following the book. Covers breathing exercises, standing/sitting exercises and stretches. No equipment or space needs and flexible time commitment. Don't mistake this for a full workout but great for warm-up and muscle/joint stiffness.

  • Excellent book. I have been doing 8 pieces of Brocade for the past 5 years. I have learned about 35 different versions. In this book there are 2 versions with some different movements that I have never seen before. Also there are other stretches, and movements that are very beneficial.
