  • The delivery was late and there were no issues with the weather. Amazon should let people know that the shipping method was going to be with UPS when people use Amazon Prime. It is a very poor shipping method if you work in a busy profession(law enforcement, medical/doctor/nurse, my profession...corrections! ) I received a damaged copy of the same book from an authorized seller in which I never do business with again and it is taking this person a long time to refund my money through Amazon. Let alone, these late deliveries are going to cause me my grade in GRAD SCHOOL! As for the book, the publisher McGraw/Hill could have made this book a simple paperback or hard cover book. Students are going to suffer in their pocket books buying or renting these over priced text books. In the future, I will just order other types of merchandise that does not relate to school through Amazon. I know for a fact that I will NEVER use Amazon Prime again because I don't have the time and day to flag down an overworked, disrespectful delivery person. Shame on you McGraw/Hill! For selling a ridiculously designed loose leaf book. Amazon, you guys need to have better delivery options for busy customers especially if you are unable to guarantee prompt deliveries. UPS, that is another review that will take all day and night to complete. This review may long, but every hardworking consumer needs to know about this matter. Note: three stars were given because of the good packaging. The looks of the book, Amazon Prime delivery and UPS involvement with the delivery is 1 star in secrecy!

  • The content of this book is fine, if you can view it. If you want to view it electronically, you should know that the eBook cannot be read on Kindle for Windows 8, so you will have to view it on another Kindle application. At first, I was able to view it just fine on Kindle for PC, but I was unable to re-download it after I reformatted my computer. I spent a on the phone with Amazon, and all the options we tried did not fix the problem. Thankfully, they refunded my money, but I now I need to rent the slightly more expensive, paperback version of the book.

It is unclear if the problems I had with the Windows for PC app were unique to my situation, or if they would apply to anybody else in those circumstances. I do think they are noteworthy, especially since there wasn't a real solution to my problem. (And really, how can any eBook not work for Windows 8 by now?)

  • Got it on Amazon through textbookrush- free shipping is a plus, but they put an obnoxious amount of stickers all over the book (new or used). Content is the same in the international edition, but your college bookstore probably won’t buy it back. You still save a lot of money with this edition though. I’d be happier if my book wasn’t a sticker billboard for textbookrush.

  • I only recently learned that textbooks could be rented. What a big savings that is, especially if you don't plan use a book after a purchase. When you're ready to send back by the allotted time of usage, its simple to get a return shipment label on the Amazon website. The book I received was in very good condition. I also enjoyed reading it as well!

  • I am going to an online college and ordered this book from another company. The book arrived four days before my class started and it was the wrong book. I went to the company that sent the book and was told "sorry but we no longer carry the book". I do not understand why they would send a different book instead of refund my money but they did. I went to the original company that recommended the seller and was told mistakes happen and there was nothing they could do. I went to Amazon and true to form Amazon came to the rescue. I had no idea that I could have Kindle on my PC. Needless to say I downloaded the book at a lesser price than I paid for the incorrect book. From now on all of my text books are coming from Amazon.

  • I've rented texts from Amazon before with wonderful results, nice books, good quality. THIS book is trash, or should be. I've included a picture of just the binding as it came out of the box. The tape that held it together was already coming apart. It's marked up inside, torn up on the outside, and if it were on the "used" shelf at the college bookstore, it would likely be left for last and knocked onto the floor. Sorry, this one is a big ol' FAIL.

  • I rented this textbook for my Health and Human Lifespan Development online course this summer at Georgia State. It's a little confusing how the subsections are set up in each chapter, at least given the fast-paced nature of my summer course. I could use the book and my notes for the quizzes, so I really had to read the chapters fully beforehand if I had any hope of immediately finding the answers. I even had to write down some page numbers. If you plan on using this textbook to find answers without reading, then you should make sure you have enough time to locate the information. Other than that, the information was fairly interesting. It just gets old to continually read about psychoanalytic theory. The social and biological information was much more interesting to learn about, in my personal opinion.

  • This book is easy to read and understand. It provides psychological experiments to explain theories. Although the author can go into more in depth of certain subjects, he does a decent job at explaining most, if not all, of the contents.
