  • My father was a Berkeley-trained psychologist. Reading this book it sounded just like him! He has passed away now. Sad, and I miss him, but I can live with it and still have a happy life especially as he has taught me so much.
    This type of REMT (rational emotive therapy) is all over this book. You, too can stop ‘awfulizing’, ‘musterbating’ and spending time making yourself miserable!
    Funny note: My little brother is now a Harvard-trained psychologist and HE sounds just like this book, too. Sound advice for reasonable living.

    It strikes a chord. It helps you change your way of seeing things. Mountains become molehills with this great book.

  • I bought this to listen to in the car while traveling for work. What I learned was that I am in charge of my own happiness. Life can happen, but I determine how it affects my mood, my life. Powerful!

  • Old school but still relevant with so many new aged principles still similar to this today

  • This book is fantastic, exactly what I was looking for. I knew it was out there but unfortunately it took me awhile - and many unhappy days - to find it. Within the first few chapters I started feeling better about myself simply through the idea that I do not need anyone else's approval and simply accepting that there are going to be people out there who will not like me no matter what I do - but that's THEIR problem, not mine. With this mindset, I have been able to look at my relationships with people in a new light. I still try to be friendly and polite to others but if they do not reciprocate, it is no longer a problem. I haven't finished reading this book yet but I know I will never buy another self-help book again.
