John Webster Grant is a professor of church history at Emmanuel College of Victoria University and is the author of a number of studies of Canadian religious history. His newest book deals with the encounter between Christianity and the Indian peoples over a span of 450 years, from 1534, when Jacques Cartier first erected a cross before Indians of the Gaspé, to the present.
