I'm never sure about these "Then and Now" books - the quality in the photos and workmanship is often a crap shoot, but this one is actually very well done. The photos show what they are supposed to and are often taken from the exact same angle as one taken 70-100 years ago. For me, this was important.

In its early days, the park received many exotic animals as gifts, expanding the Menagerie. A zoo building was designed to house the animals in 1934. Come rub Balto's nose! • Nice and informative book to have for the fan of Central Park. Interesting photos and history. Fast delivery. Thank you.

  • For me, it is always nice to see how things used to be years ago. This book is great because of the wonderful old pictures and the equally wonderful current pictures that are side by side. The author has written a lot of historical information that goes along with each pair. Definitely a book you would want whether or not you have been to Central Park but want to learn more.
