The Bruneval raid book.

The Bruneval raid book. Although titled the Bruneval Raid this book by George Miller, himself a hero of WWII, spends most of it's time on the history of radar development and the beginnings of the RAF's Photo The Bruneval Raid took place in February 1942, one of the first combined operations British forces took part in in WWII. British paratroops led by Major Frost (of Arneham fame) took control of a German radar site, and removed vital equipment, so that it could be examined by scientists back in England.

Over two million American servicemen passed through Britain during the Second World War. In 1944, at the height of activity, up to half a million were based there with the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). Their job was to man and maintain the vast fleets of aircraft needed to attack German cities and industry.
