Walcheren 1809 covers a huge gap in a little known campaign that had a major impact on the Peninsular War. Because of its long-term implications for operations by the British in the Peninsular, it should be in every Napoleonic library, not just those specializing in the British Army. This book is a good and easy read on a much under-reported - in Britain anyway! - subject from the Napoleonic era. The text reads well, is well structured and is well sourced though I have some grips. Walcheren was and still is part of the province of Zeeland, in the country of the Netherlands, and not Holland.
