Six millennia of world history at a glance, in more than 400 illustrations

Six millennia of world history at a glance, in more than 400 illustrations. Through thousands of dates, facts and quotes, all in chronological sequence, a 30-foot, visual panorama of history literally unfolds, revealing untold treasures inside credibile. Non è infatti un libro "normale" a partire dal formato.

The book still had the correct name on it (The Wall Chart of World History), but was updated and better. The Wallchart of World History shows who lived at the same time all around the globe. It was fascinating to think about who might have had contact with whom, maybe even knew them personally. Since this chart dates back to the 19th century I'm not confident about its accuracy on a number of points, however it is fun to see what was going on in the different civilizations at the same time, including China, South America, and India, as well as Europe.

  • Others have talked about this "book" much more eloquently than I can describe it so I'll make this review short by my standards. The first thing I'll say is yes, this is in a hard cover book cover, but I think the word book at least for me makes me imagine something that it's not. With that being said though it will teach the times historical events both Biblical and other historical events took place even better than a normal book can. For somebody who is a more visual learner this is a great resource for learning when historical events took place. Inside the cover what you'll find is a beautiful wall chart that is about 30 feet long. On it if my memory is right, on the top is the history of the world in a timeline format looking at Biblical events and on the bottom is the timeline showing the world history like what we learned in public schools. It's interesting to see when Biblical events took place and Biblical people were alive at the same time as other major milestones in history. One of the best features of this timeline chart is that it is adorned with really good artwork to illustrate the events that are on the timeline. For anybody with an interest in Biblical history or homeschooling families this in my opinion a must have and I highly recommend it!

  • A huge chart with all of World History in one place is mind-bending! This is so impressive I wish I had wall space long enough to hang it as a permanent decoration and reminder of our amazing evolution ..... I refer to it constantly and it is clear and SO easy to see and follow....

  • If you have a difficult time grasping the timeline of simultaneous events and the connections in the overall Biblical timeline, this book will help tremendously! Every friend or family member that I show this too get so excited that they usually buy one for themselves. Very powerful tool in understanding Scripture and accelerating learning about it too. This is one of my favorite all time books.

  • Purchased this as a gift for a friend who loves History. Found it so fascinating will be ordering a couple more, one for myself and one as a gift for another friend!

  • A newer revision strips off the Biblical time line and shows the vertical descent of various ethnic groups according to science.

I much prefer this one, not because I'm a Biblical literalist, but because it's better illustrated, it's endlessly more detailed, and it unfolds horizontally, which is the the way I imagine history unfolding.

It is the product of a mind trying to marry world history with the Judaeo-Christian tradition, not an anthropological report. As such, I couldn't ask for more.

  • This is really neat to have on hand. Packed full of great information. Only drawback is; writing is very, very small. Great quality and just as described.

  • I have been catching up on my history and I love this. It really helps in keeping the time and people in order.

  • This expandable wall chart/book puts together important moments in human history in a linear fashion. The expandable pages allow us to see events from beginning to end in some semblance of order over time, and while you may or may not "agree" with certain aspects of its history, what a fabulous teaching and learning tool! Yup, really like it.
