TALES OF THE FISH PATROL BY JACK LONDON I WHITE AND YELLOW San Francisco Bay is so large that often its storms are more disastrous to ocean-going craft than is the ocean itself in its violent moments. The waters of the bay contain all manner of fish, wherefore its surface is ploughed by the keels of all manner of fishing boats manned by all manner of fishermen.

San Francisco Bay is so large that often its storms are more disastrous to ocean-going craft than is the ocean itself in its violent moments. To protect the fish from this motley floating population many wise laws have been passed, and there is a fish patrol to see that these laws are enforced.

Thus he joined the Fish Patrol. Catching the rascal pirates satisfied even London’s appetite for adventure but more importantly gave us a record of these outlaw times captured by one of the world’s greatest storytellers. Jack had become the best-selling, highest paid and most popular American author of his time. London was born in San Francisco in 1876.

It is the habit of the shrimp to crawl along the bottom in vast armies till it reaches fresh water, when it turns about and crawls back again to the salt.

Tales of the Fish PatrolHardcover – 11 October 2018. This is one of the worst examples of book piracy I have seen. To protect the fish from this motley floating population many wise laws have been passed, and there is a fish patrol to see that these laws are enforced. Exciting times are the lot of the fish patrol: in its history more than one dead patrolman has marked defeat, and more often dead fishermen across their illegal nets have marked success.

  • This is one of the worst examples of book piracy I have seen. The illustrations are fine, but the pagination and odd use of paragraph breaks suggests that this edition was simply photocopied from another edition. That statement is bolstered by the inside cover title page, which lists publication date as 1906, obviously a bad photocopy job.

  • The spine is printed on the cover. I dont know if its a bootleg copy or what

  • Was just boring to me, couldn't get past first chapter, sorry

  • It was free on my Kindle. What can be better than that??

  • One of my favorite London books. Very little known any more.

  • This is a great collection of short stories about a young man doing a very dangerous job in the San Francisco bay area. As usual with Jack London stories, there are plenty of villans and a small group of heroes, who are adept at using smarts to overcome their problems. If you enjoy Jack London stories, this is a must read.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this tale.

  • The design of this particular publishing is very poor and the text is riddled with errors, but the stories are wonderful and as always, Jack London can tell a ripping good tale.
