Discusses basic sewing techniques and provides step-by-step guidance on making pants, shirts, coats, jumpsuits, and other clothing
  • I loves this book. Its not for beginners though. this book is for the seasoned sewer who already knows how to alter patterns and is interested in making home made, custom made patterns. I love the patterns. They are very outdated, but I already know how to alter patterns and what fabrics to use to have a more "current" look. Overall, its great.

  • This is a good basic book most helpful if you get the patterns published with it. There is an envelope of full sized patterns by the author so you won't have to draft your own. Patterns are sold separately, but occasionally you can find a seller who offers book and patterns together. Styles are roomy and forgiving for all body types. This book helps you sew your own for personalized fit and lower cost.

  • I think that Easy Style is unique: nearly infinite variations on a few basic style themes. I am not that great at (nor interested in) fitting. What I like is FABRIC. And Easy Styles' simple designs and wonderful pen and ink drawings of variations help me imagine fabric into fashions. Plus, I think they are delightfully quirky, with the designer and models being Danish; and almost timeless, too, as a specific neckline finish may come and go, but at least ONE will be currently in fashion. I love this book--I'm actually grateful for this book--because it really helps me see how style elements relate to one another and can be modified endlessly.

  • This book consists of 4 basic top patterns (inset, drop, raglan and kimono sleeves), pants and skirt patterns, and a couple of hats. The tops, which interest me the most, are boxy, with deep armholes. There are 24 collar variations, with instructions for ways to vary the styles. Some have complete instructions, others are suggestions. They show how to draft the patterns, but you can also buy the basic patterns full size from the publisher. I like big shirts, and attractive, interesting shirt patterns are very hard to come by. Definitely worth checking out!
