We are working our way through the book and doing each section as a project using the excellent photos of each specific ribbon stitch.   • Heather Joynes covers materials, stitches, patterns and projects in this entry on silk ribbon embroidery. The designs are classic for the most part and could easily be adapted to contemporary projects, especially the landscapes and some of the floral motifs. The directions are clear and concise and cover the basics of ribbon embroidery. If you want to learn ribbon embroidery and want a bargain on a book than this is good value for the money. If you are looking for a stitch dictionary alone than one of the stitch dictionaries might be a better bet. Still recommended entry to the serious embroiderer's library.

  • This is the better of the two books (other book is less expensive reprint Creative Ribbonwork). This book has full color pictures of the stitches and projects. Worth the price as a reference.

  • It starts you out with simple patterns that some of us need, as beginners. I have a long way to go, but If I stick with this book, I can do it.
