Monique Mandali's first mandala coloring book features 22 designs that were spontaneously drawn during 10 days in the middle of a Montana winter. Published in its first incarnation in 1978 and currently in its 11th printing makes it the grandmother of all mandala coloring books still in print. I learned from experience a long time ago that giving children mandalas to color during story time is an activity that enables them to sit quietly. I now pass on this technique to many teachers in my workshops and university courses.

These original mandala designs by holistic therapist Monique Mandali appeal to both children and adults. Mandalas have been traditionally used as a source of wisdom and meditation. This volume includes all new mandalas and a preface that explains new ways to use and enjoy mandalas for fun and stress reduction.

  • This isn't the worst book I've gotten, but it didn't live up to my expectations. It's a very thin, flimsy feeling book, which was unexpected since it has 48 pages. The paper is just average, probably not going to stand up to much use with markers or watercolor. The designs look even more simplistic in the book than they did in pictures. While I was wanting something that could be colored faster than the extremely intricate mandalas I have, this almost goes too far to the other extreme in that they are so lacking in detail they aren't really appealing.

  • I love Mandala coloring books - I have volumes 1 through 3. The patterns created are so stimulating, yet so relaxing to sit and color. If you read my other reviews, you will know that I intend to use them to make quilts.

    I would recommend the book to anyone who needs an outlet to relieve stress. Or to anyone who wants to sit down and color along side their children. While they have their action figures, fairy princesses, etc., you will have a design that will inspire you.

  • My fault for not double checking the number of pages in the book, but I thought there would be many more mandalas!

    The pages are very thin and wrinkle when colored with marker. Not thrilled...gave it to my 8 year old daughter to color.

    The mandalas themselves are beautiful, but the way I go through them, that book would be colored completely in less than a week.

  • This artist/author has made the beauty and mystery of the mandala available to a western audience. By taking the basic structure of the eastern mandala and infusing it with subtle imagery from other cultures, she creates a collection of images that are timeless and modern. Her native american inspired mandala's are among my personal favorites. I have used these images for my own entertainment, in therapeutic settings and as the starting points fiber art creations. It is interesting to see what one can learn about one's self by looking a completed mandala. As a fan of color books for adults, this is by far my favorite series in the field. Get some colored pencils, relax and see what happens.

  • The designs in Everyone's Mandala Volume 2 are all excellent ! They are intricate enough to be interesting and simple enough to color one in a short ammount of time . The price is way too high for such a small collection in my opinion , but oddly enough I don't regret buying it .

  • Bought this book for my wife - she wanted to get a fractual colouring program - couldn't find one for the MAC.

    This book was just the trick - she loves it.

  • These volumes are easy designs and do not require much coloring skill. Should be in the children's section, not for adults.
