  • Great projects and inspiration. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of the things don't work like they were supposed to - her etching project would not work for me (getting a resist for etching ) - I had to look up online how to do it instead because her directions wouldn't work for me. But otherwise this book is wonderful.

  • If you are into rustic, funky, and atypical jewelry, you'll love this book! If you prefer dainty and elegant classic styles, probably not so much. I like both, and of the six books I've purchased recently on designing "found object" jewelry, this is by far the best.

The materials are varied, and many of the designs can easily be adapted. There is no 'right' way to do these. The techniques are explained clearly, and while I am spending a fortune on supplies, most of them are enough for several projects.

The designs are featured in a storyline that isn't really that essential...I could have done without that to leave room for more projects. Yet, I'm not going to knock off a star...it's that good.

  • One of hundreds of repurposing books out there. The trend got so wild & crazy that it got too expensive to find the old parts to purchase and make my own projects. Online craft stores were jam-packed with the stuff a year or 2 ago and it was out of this world to try & compete. Still, the book has good ideas and has become part of my library.

  • Stephanie always gives 100% and then some!! I have done a lot of the ideas and have been completely successful!! The ideas and techniques are complete and detailed. I would recommend this book to any artist, when I first bought the book I was not making metal jewelry and used the techniques for other artful adventures. Now that I have made a many of metal art jewelry I am thankful for the reads, ideas, techniques and the wonderful stories in this most excellent book!!! Thanks again Stephanie Lee! ❤

  • The projects are sorted into 2 categories: hot & cold connections - which is perfect - if you're someone like me, who has actually dreamed of losing their hair in a ball of flame at the idea of using a soldering torch. The pictures guiding the reader through the techniques are clear and well-planned. Each project is presented in a relaxed manner, giving the reader confidence to try what had once seemed too daunting, and accepting each imperfection as part of their 'hand-made signature'.

  • I was so excited to find this book...it was exactly what I was looking for! Although I am an artist, I have never ventured into jewelry and I wanted some kind of book that used found treasures. The only thing is, you need to have previous knowledge of the specific uses of tools and knowledge of materials & their uses. The author does not go into any detail about that, but rather just about creating the pieces listed in the book. Each project does have a materials list but is not always detail specific about the quantity. The author does share several techniques like etching and soldering and lists various resources for supplies and reference. I liked this book a lot, but was glad that I had purchased another that laid down the basic knowledge that you need before starting. I would recommend this book, only for a beginner I would suggest ordering an accompanying book that is a little more informative for beginning craftspeople.

  • I just received this book and I can say that it's been very, very helpful to me. This is because of not only the written explanations of how to do projects or certain procedures, but pictures as well so there's no second guessing. I learned techniques in it that I didn't know before. While I have most of the tools needed for jewelry making, etc., I even learned of more simple items around the house that I could use when soldering, etc. I'm excited about using these techniques now.

  • Good clear step-by-step photos and easily understood advice throughout each project, very helpful for a beginner.
