This is a great book for anyone who is interested in training cadaver dogs. For me, as I am doing research for my new novel, it is invaluable. It takes up all kinds of situation that a cadaver dog and the handler can come across. Recommended to anyone who has the slightest interest in this area.

Though a little dated, serves a great foundation for understanding the concepts, theories and techniques behind cadaver dog training. Many believe that all training techniques are the same, behavior = reward, no matter what the behavior is and most dogs can be taught anything. This book helps unseat many of these preconceptions, and delves into scent science and theory and forensics, as well as animal behavior.

I am very disappointed with my purchase of this book. I expected far more depth on the topics covered. For the cost of this one book, you can purchase 3 or 4 other books that will give far more information that would actually be useful. This book is going to collect dust on the bookshelf. This was a total waste of $85.

This is a fantastic book to have in your SAR library. It provides fantastic information on a multitude of subjects that pertain to not only training but the legalities of search and rescue. A definite "must have" recommendation.

Buriwield

Good book,I was using it for search & rescue but it's geared more towards police work. Still, it gave you good pointers & lessons on scent detection for the beginning dog.
