  • Excellent Transaction...Recommended!

  • This book was needed for school it is good quality easy to read has a lot of good information and was useful.

  • Understand that this book is not like Sadler's or the more wordy "Pirc-Alert" type books. It's more comprehensive and pithy. If you are new to the Semi-Slav and want to learn its ideas, this book is not for you. Go by Sadler's excellent book Semi-Slav instead. (Actually, it wouldn't hurt to buy all Sadler's books while you're at it, but that's really a separate point.

If, instead, you already have a good feel for the semi-slav and want a solid compendium of lines among the various variations, as well as some useful commentary on each one, then this serves that purpose well. I used it with full confidence while writing a recent article for Chessville.com, and John Watson evidently trusted this book enough to quote it for his recent book on understanding the closed games.

  • It's only a poor limited database.
I'm really disappointed to bye this Gambit book
I bought this book just after the excellent work of Burgess in
    Slav defence.
U can't learn opening from this book.
If u want to learn the ideas of Slav or Semi-Slav or QG ,
    Sadler is the best,
then u can use chess base or chess assistant to see more....
I will never bye another book of PEDERSEN.
