John Harriss Langbein (born 1941) is the Sterling Professor of Law and Legal History at Yale Law School. He is an expert in the fields of trusts and estates, comparative law, and Anglo-American legal history. Professor Langbein earned his . in Economics from Columbia University in 1964; his L. magna cum laude in 1968 from Harvard Law School; and a second L. in 1971 from Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
