Antifungal susceptibility testing was performed using the broth microdilution method. Although no resistance extreme was specified for amphotericin B by the CLSI, the strains with a MIC value of 1 are accepted as resistant. Since C. krusei is an intrinsically t Candida species, no resistance extremes were used in the interpretation of the MIC values obtained for C. krusei. Quality control was ensured by testing the CLSI-recommended strains C. parapsilosis ATCC 22019 and C. krusei ATCC 6258. Statistical significance was determined by chi-square analysis (Epi Info, version 6). 3. Results.
