  • I found the "FL Real Estate Principles, Practice & Law" to be superior. It is actually far better than Dearborne's other book, "Florida Real Estate Brokers Guide" which the schools make you purchase. Additionally, the Real Estate Principles book is actually coordinated to be used with the "Exam Manual for Sales Associates and Brokers" book, also by Dearborn. The Exam Manual book references info to the Principles, Practices & Law book.

I found these two books provide an indispensable combination for learning the actual required material for associates and brokers. The state exam for both course I and II are remarkably similar so whatever info is unique to brokers, is noted. The material is intelligently presented, highly organized, lucid and clearly explained. It provides a college level presentation and does not employ the poor difficult to understand narrative style that lesser books use. There is also a very helpful large index and glossary to assist in quickly finding info and terms within the almost 500 page book. Every chapter has a summary, comprehensive chapter test, and a final exam consisting of 100 questions.

The only short coming I found was that there is no answer key provided for the chapter and practice final exams. However, I found the key on the web after a brief search. I called Dearborn about the lack of the answer key, but they were not helpful or understanding at all which was disappointing. The key should absolutely be provided. Note: The Exam Manual book does have a complete answer key. Otherwise, the FL Real Estate Principles, Practices and Law book is far superior to the most every other RE books being sold today. IMO, it is the gold standard for mastering Real Estate Course 1 and II.

  • Florida law, practice, and custom differs on many points from real estate law in some other state, and I was pleased to see so much attention to specifics. Most books in this style place the emphasis on how to get a realtor's license and start making a big money, and there is much of that here, but there is also a good exposition of legal principles and how to avoid or resolve problems.

This book is not the kind of book which law students study; it is more practical and less concerned with the arcana of famously difficult legal decisions.

  • I purchased this book as practice for the exam. I was surprised when I got the book - no answers. I tried the link that was on the back of the book. Guess what? Not available. The only value I got from the book was the reading material but without the chapter end question & answers to reinforce the reading material the book didn't cut it. I wouldn't have bought the book if I knew there were no answers to the chapter end test questions.

  • Ok, so I originally ordered this book so that I could study real estate before paying any money for the course. This is the current edition that is used by most schools in Florida so if you buy it here than you are probably going to be paying less for it than if you were to purchase it from the school. So the book is the basic layout of what you would expect. Individual chapters breaking down principles, property classification and so on. The main point is go ahead and buy this book because you are basically going to have to anyways.

  • The book is thorough for the current test requirements, even though it is not the latest addition. Be aware, however, that it is NOT possible to get the answers to the sample questions.

  • This book has been so helpful in studying for the Florida Real Estate Broker test. All the information in the book is very detailed and up to date. Highly recommended for anyone studying for the Florida Sales Associate or Broker exam or a Real Estate agent who just want more knowledge on the updated laws and practices in the state.

  • This book is a great addition to your home library as it is current, easy to follow and will prepare you for the hardest real estate exam in the country. There are plenty of useful tips, examples and resources to get all the right information. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get into real estate or to anyone who works around condo hotels, management, ect.

  • Worked for me...
