  • This book was for us to choose readings for our wedding ceremony. Now 7 months married, I use it as a compilation of Bible readings about marriage, Christian meaning of love, etc. The analyses and the readings help me when lows come. The Holy Spirit shows me the way as a wife when I dont know what to do in a circumnstance with my husband. Reading it in a thin book I carry it everywhere. Im trying to read it daily now. Theyre all so beautiful. A lot of the readings didnt make sense or I couldnt see I needed before when we got married, and now, thwy have true meaning and applicability in my own marriage. I thought I lost the book, got a new one. Totally worth it beyond wedding day readings but for undwrstanding what the sacrament is: your spouse is the sign of His covenant to you. Only now sinking in, 7 months later, that I AM as a wife like the early Church -which has to constantly be alert and devout to Christ in Pauls outlining of love- and my husband is like Jesus. Paul said that too in other readings also found in the book...the Head and the Body. It's so amazing and true. Totally helps us.

  • This small book walks you through all the elements of a Catholic wedding even if you don't have a full mass. The explanations are thorough and easy to understand. Plus, it recommends a variety of prayers, readings, and vows to help personalize your ceremony. There is a companion book that most priests have. If your officiant uses this series, then you can fill out the form in the book (there's a super easy online version too). This makes it straightforward for both you and the priest to plan all the elements of your ceremony. If your church does not use the Together for Life series, then this booklet may not be as useful. However, it may still help you narrow down reading choices and understand what the different parts of the ceremony mean.

  • Just a note: If you are getting married in the Catholic church, your priest will likely give you a copy of this book for free.
It contains a lot of valuable information and also includes all the possible selections for your wedding Mass. I love that it includes refelctions on each of the readings. If you are having a hard time deciding which readings to choose, reading these reflections with your fiance might help make the decision easier. If for some reason your parish doesn't use this, make sure you get a copy.

  • I bought this book recently in order to plan our Nuptials which is due to take place early 2010. My Fiance and I wanted to select the readings and other passages but not just by browsing through Catholic websites but by really understanding what the readings mean and convey. We came across many references to this particular book and decided to purchase it ourselves. It is really helpful in terms of providing an explanation of the readings as well as anecdotes from "real" couples. We find this book really helpful and think its a really handy book for couples planning their wedding. The entire format of the mass and prayers / liturgy and Rite of marriage (along with options) is included making it easier to decide. The explanation is simple and easy to understand.

  • This is a must do for Catholic weddings. Buy this first before even thinking about planning your ceremony. It gives you all the options in reading and some in music (though there are certainly more upbeat and modern music available elsewhere) as well as the order and explanations. Perfect.

  • I have been using Fr. Joseph Champlin's booklet, "Together for Life" as pastor of a Catholic parish for over a decade to prepare couples for marriage, and it has been universally appreciated and enjoyed by every couple. It is clear, concise, has all you need to prepare for the ceremony and is user-friendly. Just ordered more, since I had run out.

Fr. Joe has two versions - one for the wedding inside Mass and another for the wedding ceremony outside Mass. The first gives many choices for the Scripture readings from the Old Testament, Responsorial Psalms, New Testament readings and finally the Gospels. Fr. Joe gives thought-provoking ideas after every reading as suggestions for homily material. You'll like it.

  • It has all the prayers, scriptural readings and blessings the Catholic Church recommends for your wedding. I give it to all couples who are preparing to create a beautiful religious ceremony for them to choose each item on the program. Its a good tool for officiants to use with their couples. I gave it four stars because I preferred this booklet when it had separate version for weddings outside of Mass. Its a little confusing to use for couples because it now includes Mass prayers and so makes the volume bulkier. Fr. Carroll

  • This book is terrific! I covered all the bases and answered a lot of the questions I had regarding getting married in the Catholic Church. I realized shortly after purchasing this book that I didn't need to buy it because my parish my provided it to us. I would check with where you plan on getting married to find out if they provide it to you. If not, this is a MUST buy....
