this book was absolutely outstanding for m. .Barnes' style was also easy to read, I did not stop for once to look up the terminology used in the dictionary, he had them all thoroughly defined and explained. Every penny spent on this book was well worth it; in fact I recommended it to many of my friends. One person found this helpful.

This book was never opened and was only carried in a backpack. It is basically like new with very minor imperfections. A great introduction to the study of religion! By Thriftbooks. com User, May 1, 1999. In the Presence of Mystery is a great book for introducing the study of religion to college students. The most valuable function of the book is that its evolutionary interpretation provides students with a set of non-subjective categories to use as tools.

Introduction – Reality and History in the Context of Postmodern Literature. While reading the book, the reader soon realizes that Julian Barnes’s work differs extremely from classical history books. This is what Shipwreck tries to tell as well: humans are likely to turn bad history into something beautiful, for example art. Art is a way to shape the past, but Barnes goes even further: catastrophe has become art; but this is no reducing process.
