In this work Earhart has curated an excellent introductory work to many of the world's major religions. The book avoids the bias that most religious primers contain - it does not attempt to promote or detract from any of the religions it introduces, and instead focuses on providing a clear foundation for religious studies students. This book should be thought of as an introduction to these religions

  • I had to buy this book for a class and I wasn't too excited about having to read the whole, huge book. But it's actually a really great book. It's written in more of a novel form than a boring, old textbook, which made it very enjoyable. It's one of the few textbooks I'll actually keep on my bookshelf for a while.

  • Waitng to explore the information.

  • Item as described in the right time frame. Thank you!

  • I had to purchase this book for my class. Instead of putting me to sleep, I found myself really enjoying the book!

  • Good book, insightful...

  • Saved a lot of money on this purchase. I needed for a college class. It got to me quickly and it is in great shape. Thank you.

  • Gave it away.

  • This book is a very good resource. However, some of the information is dated. For example, it has been scientifically confirmed with DNA testing that Homo Sapien Sapiens are approximately 200,000 years old. The oldest group that is closest to the original humans are the Khoisan/San people of southern Africa. Khoisan/San people have the greatest genetic diversity in the world. A major omission was the spirituality/religion of Kemet (Egypt) which was totally left out of the book. The spirituality of ancient Kemet set the stage for the rest of the world. It is one of the oldest, if not the oldest religion in the world with the first "bible", The Books of the Coming Forth by Day. These books address the immaculate conception/virgin birth, resurrection after death, Madonna and Holy Child, and judgement for one's deeds on earth. Furthermore, The Books of the Coming Forth by Day include the 42 Principles of Maat (principles to live a holy life on earth) and the concept of one God. The 10 commandments are a part of the 42 Principles of Maat. The Books of the Coming Forth by Day was the foundation for most of the religions in the world today.
