Eric is Winning Book. Beating a Terminal Illness with Nutrition, Avoiding Toxins and Common Sense by Eric Edney. Eric Edney was an extremely active outdoorsman when he was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) at age fifty-nine. He was a hunter, fisherman, dirt bike rider, water-skier, dune buggy racer, golfer and raquetball player for many years prior to his illness. Eric and Glenna lived in their custom-built home on two acres complete with fruit trees, a vegetable garden, chickens, geese, ducks and one peacock.

  • Very informative, and the author is definitely generous to share, so others can live without their doctors. What I've learned about this book is that doctors are really making money off of unnecessary prescriptions and surgeries. Doctors know very little about nutrition or prevention. I became a doctor, and medical school only requires one class of nutrition. The program is backwards, and teaches to treat rather than prevent. Doctors, hospitals and the medical industry would make no money if they told you what the author reveals. His book encouraged me to go to school to become a naturopathic doctor.

  • The book, Surviving Without Your M.D.,is a very well written explanation of how Big Pharma is ripping us off and killing thousands of Americans every year. Most doctors only know drugs and surgery. The best health care is knowing how to care for ourselves by maintaining a balanced, healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Mark H.

Nevertheless, it is an informative, insightful, practical book for those wishing to keep or regain their health. Eric and his wife Glenna have collaborated to produce a book that explains how the American Medical Establishment "works". We learn how Big Medicine functions, is funded and how it has failed the American people who depend on it for health maintenance. We follow the money trail of the Medical Establishment. The reader is helped to understand why it isn't in the interest of medical societies, pharmaceutical companies or the FDA to prevent or heal chronic and degenerative diseases. But more than exposing the wrongs, Eric and Glenna propose solutions to make the system work better. More importantly, they provide the tools and resources health-seekers need to recover, including procedures, treatments, diets and supplements that can actually prevent or cure diseases. Eric identifies helpful websites and books so the reader can do research. He also gives contact information for diagnostic labs. All in all, "Surviving Without Your MD..." is a valuable, worthwhile read.
