  • I am required by my LPN program to complete the Study Guide for independent hours. I personally wouldn't go out of my way to purchase this as a study aid. It is overpriced, and tedious to complete (unless you find the answer key). The Study Guide has terminology matching and "NCLEX style" questions, It doesn't help me get through the reading, because it skips around the chapter. There is no chapter summary or overview. I print out the key to the chapter I'm working on and use the Study Guide to TEST myself.
    (I find that I need a clear overview of the subject to prepare for the volume of reading in the text. I'm going to purchase the Med/Surg Demystified book (for half the price of this Study Guide) and hope that it is more helpful.)

    Also, the answer key is NOT in the Study Guide. However, the answers are available online, on the Evolve site
    (Hint: The URL is in LIGHT GREY PRINT, AT THE TOP OF EACH CHAPTER in the Study Guide. Go there and "purchase" the FREE STUDENT RESOURCES for the corresponding Textbook, and you will find the Study Guide answer key.) The key includes answers to all of the questions, and rationalizations for the multiple choice (NCLEX style) answers.

  • i only paid 6bucks 10 with shipping... greatful for the book but all of the questions are answered and there a big black mark on the side there are scratches all in the inside but AT LEAST I HAVE THE QUESTIONS. which is all i really wanted so i'm satisfied!

  • This study guide contains worksheets with the vocabulary and matching on them. Its great if you have the time to fill them out but I never found the time to work on them so I used them very little. I preferred using the online resources from Evolve instead.
