Hard to Find book
  • It's a gold mine of information for those caring for individuals with Down Syndrome. It's certainly difficult to wade through at times as it is heavy in medical terminology and reads like a medical school textbook. I've been a nurse for 20 years and still had to slow down, reread, and look up terms at times. However, once you've tackled it, you can extract all the invaluable science to knowledgeably and confidently advocate for your loved one.

  • I ordered this book as a back up to the copy I have because my copy is getting worn out from using and loaning so often. Even though this book was published in 1992 it addresses most known medical issues for persons with Down Syndrome. So many times I have provided information to families and caregivers so that they can consult with their doctors. The information on Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Alzheimer's Dementia is helpful, as well as information about knee cap issues, reduced immune system, and hypotonia.
