  • I'm a current pharmacy student and at my school, we have weekly group discussion on assigned cases.
Almost every one in my group have this nifty little pocket guide, so I decided to give it a try. Here are my thoughts on this.

    PROS:
    - Compact and light, fits well in white coat pocket
    - Useful tool for common lab value ranges
    - Has treatment guidelines for selected topics

    CONS:
    - Should be spiral bound instead of 1 ring bound

Overall, I love this pocket guide. I don't use it all the time, but when I do need a quick lab value range or just a refresher on asthma treatment steps, I'm glad I bought this. I don't know how often pharmacists use such things, but as a student, I recommend this!

  • I'm afraid this product is mostly useless! The card subjects do not offer much in the way of a ready pocket reference of frequently used data. In fact most of the data are rarely used and enough time would exist to look up these subjects elsewhere in a large compendium. What pharmacists need are cards with the answers to frequently asked drug questions + Drug comparison and IMPORTANT (not potential) drug/drug interaction charts.

  • If you're a pharmacy student and have cases. This book is awesome, I would definitely recommend this to any health care professional.

  • I got this for free, so I think it is all right. It has some useful stuff in it. $15 probably isn't bad for it, but I never brought it on rotations with me or anything.

  • My fiance needed this book for school. Got it on time and she was happy she received it. If she's happy it makes my life that much easier. Ha

  • Perfect for the pharmacy student who doesn't want to sit down and make their own "brain." It's laminated and holds up to being dragged around everywhere in my white coat!
