This study about corporal punishment was conducted in Saudi Arabia in 2005. The results show that children get corporal punishment regardless of their gender. However, males get more punishment than females. Mothers punish females more than males while fathers do the opposite. In general, mothers punish children more than fathers. This is because children stay more with their mothers. The study stresses that psychological punishment is more severe (painful) than corporal punishment. Therefore, it should not be widely used.
