Sheldon Glueck (August 15, 1896 – March 10, 1980) was a Polish-American criminologist. They were the first criminologists to perform studies of chronic juvenile offenders and among the first to examine the effects of psychopathy among the more serious delinquents.

Sheldon Glueck went to the United States from his native Poland in 1903 and was naturalized in 1920. Subsequent books by the Gluecks included Unraveling Juvenile Delinquency (1950), in which they published their controversial Social Prediction Tables by which they claimed potential delinquents could be identified by the age of six, Delinquents in the Making (1952), Physique and Delinquency (1956), Predicting Delinquency and Crime (1959), Family Environment and Delinquency (1962), Ventures.

Eleanor Touroff Glueck (April 12, 1898–September 25, 1972) was an American social worker and criminologist.

Long scornful of any physique factor in crime, whether Lombroso’s atavisms or Hooton’s biological inferiority, they have devoted a lifetime to discovering the social disruptions that lead to early criminality.
