Bill Harris, Founder, Centerpointe & Holosynch(tm) te. Dr. Hardt's Alpha Training has given me more awareness and ability . If you've ever wondered why, The Art of Smart Thinking will provide some answers and solutions. Every experience you have is the result of certain brain waves. Hardt's Alpha Training has given me more awareness and ability to increase these benefits for my clients and in my own life as well. James Arthur Ray, Speaker, Author, Harmonic Wealth. If you're at all serious about your emotional and spiritual growth, this is going to absolutely blow your mind.

In this book are many discoveries that Dr. Hardt has taken a lifetime to discover. The most mind blowing concept in the book was that of NEURALPLASTISY, basically that our brains are changeable, malleable, and moldable even as ADULTS, and that during Dr. Hardt's Alpha one training people GAINED on average 1. IQ points during the 7 days of the training AND this was stable one year out as measured by psychological tests.

There's a leap in me And I must let go To fall freely into the hands Of life - To touch the core Of my being- to be in the flow... -Excerpt from poem written by Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith Inspired by Alpha Training at Biocybernaut Institute Reprinted with permission.

From the Introduction:

How would you like to access all of your brain s innate capacity to learn, invent, create and solve problems? Would it improve your life if you could think more clearly, access your intuition, reduce stress and anxiety, and prevent your brain from aging? We ve all heard that we use only a tiny percentage of our brain s natural capacity. If you've ever wondered why, The Art of Smart Thinking will provide some answers and solutions.

Every experience you have is the result of certain brain waves. Unfortunately, most of us are only accessing two of our four brain waves, and the two left out, Alpha and Theta, are actually the most important for exceptional creativity and intelligence! .

You can learn to produce these two types of brain waves on command, which will allow you to: Restore your youthful brain wave patterns Enhance your creativity, empathy and problem-solving ability Improve your personal relationships Reduce your feelings of stress, anxiety, anger and depression Enhance your special skills and abilities Achieve physical and mental peak performance states The Zone Improve your mental clarity and memory

  • You'd think from the title and description that you might learn something about mental training techniques to enhance your intelligence. But you'd be wrong. The book is little more than an advertisement for the author's institute. His institute very well may enhance one's intelligence, but this book just discusses case histories and the development of the institute. There is no practical information. Everything leads to the fact that if you want any of the benefits that the author talks about, you have to attend his institute.

  • When I first settled in to read this book, I thought I would encounter the mechanics/theory of brain waves and how these waves relate to our everyday moods and functioning. This book does in fact cover the basics of neurofeedback, but the book had a surprise for me. I was intersted to learn how much of our ability to sustain a high alpha brain wave state was based on deep "forgiveness" work. Of course, this does make sense if one deeply thinks about this. While the book is a very good introduction to Dr. Hardt's life long work in this exciting area of human potential, the book could use some serious editing. Hopefully, later additions will correct some of the obvious publication flaws.
I have to say that this book has definitely motivated me to do Dr. Hardt's neurofeedback training someday, however, I will need a source of independent wealth first! So, if you are really into human evolution and your own personal spiritual growth/evolution, give this book a read!

  • This book would be an excellent read for someone that is thinking of taking the Biocybernaut Training. It reads like a long advertisement for the training which costs a mere $15,000 per module! Good history of the training with a few interesting stories of people that took it but mostly razzle dazzle. It did make me wish I had a spare 15K laying around so I could be happier, more peaceful and on the road to Zen enlightenment.

  • If you do not have the $15,000 to get the training, read "Peek Performance: Mental Training Techniques of the World's Greatest Athletes" by Charles A. Garfield, Ph.D., 1985. It has a biofeedback technique that will teach you how to increase you Alpha waves! You can do it yourself with just the book. I have used it for over 15 years. It can't duplicate the training you get for $15,000 but it is a start. As for me, I will raise the $15,000 any way I can because I know it is worth it because of the personal experience I have with the Peek Performance book.
The biofeedback technique takes about 3 months to master - well worth it. It goes on to teach you visualization. It really does teach you how to get into the Zone.

Man. Dr. Hardt really blew my mind when I heard him on the radio. I have been waiting for something like this for 15 years! Incredible.

  • I purchased this book after reading the strong recommendations of another self-help guru. Well I stuck with it for 100 pages, but I'm not going to waste any more time on it. It is basically a 300 plus page ad for the author's expensive alpha brain wave retreats. Ok, we get some interesting info on how the business started, and some useful advice, like get plenty of sleep and cut down on caffeine and alcohol. I see there are lots of favorable reviews, so maybe it's just me! But I get the impression that the reviewers are praising the actual biocybernaut process, rather than the book itself.

  • I had seen a number of reviews before I bought this book saying it is a brochure for the training offered by Dr Hardt. I , likewise don't have the money laying around to take them. I bought the book anyway in the hope that I would learn some things I wouldn't find elsewhere. I was not disappointed. This book contains extremely valuable insights from Dr. Hardt's research and insights. This is groundbreaking research that is capable of changing the world. The thing I understand that people have been unhappy about is that with all these benefits of being in an alpha state it doesn't tell someone how to do it , and recommends the training sessions. This would be nice for those of us for whom money is no object. For the rest of us I would recommend learning to quiet your mind through meditation techniques , of which there are many . The Yogis and Hindus Dr Hardt has studied as examples of those proficient in putting themselves into alpha states learned through meditation and so can you . There are many different teachers and books and CDs for that purpose available. This book is still extremely interesting and insightful for me.

  • Fast and effective!

  • The book was all about the benefits you receive if you go to California and participate in Dr. Hardt's program. No useful info at all. Very disappointed I paid $25 for a paid advertisement in the name of a book.
