I've been using the Interchange series for years in the classroom, and once again Cambridge has a high quality product that delivers results. There are a few issues that I think are worth mentioning, however. In some respects, this latest edition is less accessible to students. The user friendly audio program we have enjoyed so much from the 4th edition seems not so easy to come across in the 5th edition. One familiar with the resources website can, of course, easily access the audio program for the fifth edition, but most students I've worked with are not as adept at locating and navigating this page. Hopefully what is available in the user friendly format is in the works. The self study program is, of course, an excellent resource, and having it online has the obvious advantage of keeping the software up to date and accessible, as the 4th edition DVD-ROM has been next to impossible to install for the last several years. The downside is that, for many low-income students who need it most, internet access is not necessarily a workable format. This is a small minority of students, but one I think is still worth keeping in consideration. Finally, while the assessment program has apparently been edited to get rid of the typos that should never have been there in the first place, there are still many exercises in the unit tests that do not leave the required space for students to provide their answers (for example a space large enough for one word, yet the requirement is to fill in three words). Overall it's a good course, but could have been improved in more meaningful ways.

This lab book offers additional listening and speaking support for students if your school has a language lab.

The book itself is fine, the companion CD is cracked in half. Purchased used, buyer beware.

The book is great but the CD ROM that came with the book that accompanies teaching the material does not follow this edition. It has different names and scenarios making it useless. I contacted Cambridge to see if they would replace the disc since it originated with them and they declined any assistance.

Good book, but DVD not compatible with Japan player standard

I'm very glad that I stillcan find this edition. I have my own English school but I'm just starting and last year I bought all the softwares of Interchange Third Edition, without knowing that a Fourth edition was going to be forced to have it. Now, none bookshops are selling the 3rd edition and i'm dsesperated to find 3rd edition books for my students.

I think the content and the teaching methods of this book are very good, My only problem is, it doesn't come with the CD, and a lot of the lessons rely on the listening of this CD. I have been back on line to try to buy the CD separately, but it is unavailable. I would even buy another book if the cd came with it, but they don't seem to be available either. If anyone has an answer to this dilemma, please let me know.
