  • I've used Bartold's book more than any other homeschool guide I've ever purchased. It is unique in that it not only includes educational tips and information about all the programs, publishers and curricula out there, but there's a special section devoted to the four temperaments and how they affect both homeschooling and discipline. Eye-opening and fascinating! One thing you will quickly learn as a home schooling parent is how different each child is, and how understanding them better will pave the way to successful learning. There is also an interesting discussion of the history of homeschooling and how the Catholic Church has supported this methodology from the beginning.

My husband and I both enjoyed this book immensely and we pull it out often to re-read certain sections. And whenever I have questions about textbooks and curriculum I consult this guide.

  • Protestants protest the one true Church - the
Catholic Church. This is not an issue we can ever
"move past." The resources listed in this book
were exhaustive, which almost automatically addresses the issues of a large Catholic family
under a tight budget. I'm with the author. It is a really neat book.

  • I am so happy to see this book offered on Amazon. It is the most useful book on CATHOLIC HOMESCHOOLING that you will ever find. I have to tell you there are books and there are classics, and this one is a timeless classic. This book is full of great information on anything you need to know about homeschooling methods, books, and ideas all translated for you in a Catholic language. This book is one of those books that you will be pulling out again and again to consult, check some facts, or just enjoy a good read. We live in times when it seems harder and harder to tell Catholics apart from the rest of the world, or for that matter to find out the authentic voice of the Church. This book is like a lighthouse. We need its bright and clear light more than ever. Do yourself a favor and get this book and also get a few more copies because I expect you will be so pleased that you will want to give one as gift!
