  • The book was very idealistic, but, it did make you think. And, after I finished reading the book, I found that I thought about it more and more. It would be a wonderful world if more of us thought compassionately of other people, the earth, and everything in it. One quote that I loved was about Ghandi, it said something like this - If everyone wanted an eye for an eye - the world would be blind. Loved it.

  • This is one of those books that hit the nail right on the head for me. It integrates meditation, personal responsibility, and ecology into a message that I think our world desperately needs. It's an easy read with no esoteric Buddhist philosophy that in the past has made me bleed at the ears. Rather, it's practical, heart-felt, warm, and inviting. It's helped me to move from simple acceptance to real compassion. If every American read this book the world would be a much happier place.

  • Good food for thought. An eye opener in so many ways. We are using it as a study bood at our Unity Spiritual Center. Greatly appreciated.

  • Great book for spritually inclined

  • Sri Easwaran shed his body in October, 1999. His lessons will live with us forever. He told us that his greatest tribute as a teacher would be for all of us to continue learning and practicing his 8-point program. This book is just one of the fabulous guides to a life filled with meaning. Get it-read it-DO IT.

  • Fantastically articulated. Brings a warmth and compassion to the Dharma that is less or missing from many contemporary teachers. Presents meditation as accessible and possible and as a practice you want to begin. Pema Chodron with added softness and warmth.

  • Another book of Spiritual clap-trap for those people who are "trying to find themselves". Come on people get a life.

  • I have bought several of his books and they are all keepers. He knows how to present complicated material in a way that the everyday person can comprehend. I bought this right after my Dad died, and it was a great read for where I was at that time. But all of his books that I've purchased have been great and none of them ended up in the "sell back" back. Check it out.
