Astrology is all about nodes. The planetary orbits also create a system of nodes, a system of inclinations and disinclinations. Each pair of planets (any two) orbital planes intersect to create sensitive points, more like power points for that matter. As the planets travel around their orbits through time, they reach these power points or nodes two times in a complete orbit or cycle. At that point, the planet is not only in the plane of its own orbit, but simultaneously in the plane of the second planet, and this is a point of power or emphasis. This book is about the system of planetary nodes, a system of inclinations/disinclinations, and how to interpret them in your own natal chart. The book not only covers the theory and history of this technique, but also includes 160 230 Astro*Image cards and written text that interprets each planet in the plane of every other planet, both at the Interface Points and the Square Points.
  • I chose this book because I have been interested in Planetary Nodes from the Astrological perspective. Michael Erlwine explains his theory very well. He begins by defining nodes followed by an astronomical explanation of nodes. Information is given in short, one page paragraphs accompanied by an illustration. The idea put forth is that the place where planes of orbiting planets and points is a node. These nodes contain information that can be interpreted astrologically. Erlwine explains his ideas on interpretation, explains a method which he applies to the charts of Howard Hughes and Ludwig von Beethoven. The remainder of the book lists the various nodal crossings of the planets with accompanied by an interpretation. His method can be followed to allow the reader to select those points that match his/her personal horoscope. This process I found a little daunting, by eventually I obtained some interesting information for myself. The book is well illustrated and there are tables to assist the reader in interpreting a chart. The most important idea I received from this book was the idea that the various planes crossing each other form a crystalline image. I would recommend this book for anyone who wants a challenge into the interaction of orbiting bodies and how the energy can affect us.
