This was a really amazing book by a great pioneer in the field of animal (interspecies) communication. Communicating with animals telepathically throughout her life, Penelope Smith discovered in 1971 that animals could be relieved of emotional traumas and other problems through the same counseling techniques that helped humans.

The San Francisco Chronicle called the book a reflection "on the work of a larger-than-life persona. Her paintings were included in 2005 in a two-month-long Las Vegas Art Museum exhibit, titled "XV Santa Fe Artists  .

The book that led the way - Penelope Smith's classic book on how you can learn to directly communicate with animals. Picks up where Dr. Doolittle left off, for anyone who ever wondered what his or her dog/cat/tortoise was thinking. All living creatures have the ability to think, feel, and communicate although most people have forgotten this. Thank you for letting me rediscover the ability to talk to animals. I have always known there was something I was supposed to do, to know, and now I know.

  • This book is simply sacred to me. I align already with Ms. Smith's perspective, so I was not hoping to be convinced; for me it was simply exquisite confirmation of things I had intuited and suspected were the case. I ADORE hearing from the other species - like the usual cats, dogs birds and horses - but those who are especially fascinating to me - because they are so rarely considered - are beings like slugs, lizards, lamas, the seasons, the air spirits , earth, the mineral kingdom and so on...After reading about how slugs experience the world, I am drawn to having a life as one. They are extremely , nay completely sensual!! and in the vibration of joy all the time. So beautiful.

Wonderful that more and more humans are realizing that we and non-humans are composed , on the quantum level, of the same energy. Therefore, any given human has had lives experiencing the animal, plant and mineral kingdoms. And vice versa! We always have the choice of what perspective into which we wish to incarnate to most expand our consciousness and ultimately to become whole (as we originally were).

The only difference between humans and the other kingdoms is Form. There is no inferior/superior. If you can see past the Form to the Source consciousness beyond, the common essence we all share, you can see the other being as you. This is Oneness. And indeed, this is THE lesson we all MUST embody if we are to end wars and the soul-less automotized world we have created. This is one thing the animals teach. Indeed, they are master teachers.

The perspective of the non-humans is essential for us - always has been - but especially now in the crossover time between world ages their wisdom and example is invaluable if humans do not wish to become extinct.

I was also gratified to hear that Earth is not the delicate and fragile entity some beings have worried over. She is more than capable of surviving humans' current out-of-alignment destruction and separation from Unity. Indeed she was designed knowing this "dark age" would occur - AND would pass. She is more than capable of returning us to a Golden Age along the next spiral of experience. This has accorded with similar information I've received elsewhere.

We humans, however, may or may not survive. This beautiful and hopeful book and books like it will further our chances of, not only surviving, but thriving in the sublime world that is indeed a potential future for us.
May you choose this beautiful book and get as much out of it as I did.
    Cheers.

  • Well, the only time I have to listen to these CD's is in my car. She wants you to have the pet there; but I understand the directions and can easily apply when I am actually at home. After the first 1/2 of the 1st CD ... I got it. What I don't have is practice and realizing that communication is there if only I believe and I do.

There is a lot of communication going on; all we have to do is relax and LISTEN. Penelope has a great track record; but her CDs are kind of like a chore to go through ... jury is still out as to whether I will finish them. HA!

  • Another Great Book by Penelope Smith

  • As described and prompt!

  • Just what I was looking for. Penelope Smith is amazing.

  • I am a professional counselor and I facilitate animal/pet bereavement groups for adults and children who have lost their animal companion. I found this book and Penelope Smith's take on animals passing on to another plane most helpful in the use of my practice, particularly when it comes to regrets regarding their death. So many people are not aware that sometimes our animal companions are ready to pass on and do not want to remain in their current form any longer. Penelope also has a wonderful discussion on whether to eat meat, or any type of food for that matter, and how there is an agreement within nature regarding the food chain and the willingness of animal and plant life to give up their life for another to live. It is just a matter of nature, all we need to do is respect and honor each being on this planet and treat them with dignity. This is an excellent book that is still current even today. Penelope's love and compassion really shines through.
