Learning To Lead book. This is a helpful and stimulating wee book for church leaders. I love the Asian perspective, the overall biblical wisdom and some of the soundbites

Learning To Lead book. I love the Asian perspective, the overall biblical wisdom and some of the soundbites. Although it is a bit thin and there was not a lot new I learned, I suspect this would be very helpful for younger leaders. It is very interesting that the Chinese word 'crisis' is made up of two words - wei ji. The first word 'wei' means 'danger' and the second word 'ji' means 'opportunity'.

In this new book, Humble Leadership, Schein pairs up with his son and consulting partner, Peter, to explore what the senior Schein has long proclaimed is the other side of the culture coin: leadership. Based on this premise, the Scheins counsel the reader to reframe the personal challenge of improving your leadership skills into a collective challenge of helping to improve how your groups perform.

Today’s employees want to be le. Continual learning and unlearning. Great leadership comes from within. Today’s leaders constantly strive to become more aware of their own intentions as well as their impact on others.

Today’s employees want to be led. They want to participate and engage in every aspect of their jo. There are almost no jobs left that will remain the same over time, which means that the demands of leaders and managers are continually evolving. The great ones are constantly learning and developing themselves. They’re internally driven to constantly get better, knowing full well that they will not, and should not, be perfect.
