  • Our son is dealing with the death of a young person. This book is sweet and uplifting. It is geared for very young kids, but even older kids will like it. My son is 11, but even a 5 or 6 year old could have this read to them. If you have a tragedy that your child is dealing with, finding this out-of-print book is worth the effort.

  • "And God Cried,Too" is a child-sized, simple explanation of the questions we encounter as we face the hard times of life that come to us all. Mikey, a small angel works to receive his halo, observing and learning with help from Gabe, his tutor. As Mikey's skills increase, the reader finds ideas & skills to consider as they face similar situations.

As the faith community nurse at my church, I have given copies to children and adults. I, myself find that when times are tough for me, I can sometimes comprehend best through a book like this written for children. Somehow the experiences translate into my life faster, helping me begin "living through" and beyond whatever I'm facing. After that I can gain more as I read resources written for adults.

I wish the publisher would re issue the paperback version of this very insightful book. It seems to be a nearly perfect beginning for explaining very hard realities, leading springboards for discussion & possible understanding for those of every faith.

  • Read this to my two grandchildren after their Poppa died and it gave them an enormous amount of
comfort - answering many of their precious questions. They are 7 and 4 years of age.

Rabbi Gellman is a true angel here on earth!

  • I have ordered over 10 copies of this book in the last few years to loan. I find my adult clients find it as helpful as my children do. An update would be helpful.

  • My husband died when our kids were 5,6, and 6. Six months later this book was recommended. Not only do the kids enjoy the stories and humor, they are also grasping complex life realities in the nurturing hand of a loving merciful and empathetic God. It has spurred amazing conversations about our loss and what to do with it. I am grateful to the authors for this gift.

  • No problems

  • Not bad for an older child. I'd hoped it would be more appropriate for a younger audience.

  • I love this book! I have been reading this book to my 6 and 9 year old boys and we are loving it. We read a chapter, discuss what we've read, share our feelings and then pray. This book has a few things that our not our beliefs but, that has only brought up more discussion. I highly recommend this book!!!
