So that’s the line you’re going to take, is it?. He looked at her closely, noting the dark smudges under her eyes. You’ve not slept well. I understand it, but I don’t like it. I don’t like that, I will thank you again for protecting me. Now let’s talk about you in my bed and me attacking you. I told ye that ye didn’t do any hauling or any attacking. Brandy, look at me. Lady Felicity is long gone. Bless Giles, he deserves a longer life for being the sacrificial goat to escort her back to London.

Dear Reader: Philippa de Beauchamp, as impulsive as she is beautiful, flees her father's castle when she hears she is to be wed to the repellent Baron de Bridgport. But her daring escape in a wool wagon quickly becomes a misadventure, and she winds up in the arms of Dienwalk de Fortenberry, a rogue as smooth and bold as Aquitaine wine. The number-one New York Times-bestselling author returns with a brand-new Sherbrooke novel, featuring a cast of witty and outrageous characters and two wonderfully complex mysteries.

Can you bear that he wraps himself in a yellow-striped waistcoat with a row of huge silver buttons and plants a hunter green coat over all of it? He pictured Giles preening in that ensemble.

Ian Carmichael, Duke of Portmaine, is proud, aristocratic, handsome as the devil’s right hand, and kinder than any grousing Robertson has a right to expect. Brandy Robertson—the old earl’s granddaughter—takes one look at the duke and her heart goes ballistic. The problem is, the duke is already engaged, and if that isn’t bad enough, someone wants to kill him.…

  • This is one of my favorite novels. The characters are described beautifully, I can picture each character as described . The plot was well executed. I have read it twice and plan to keep it as a go to book, when I want to read something romantic.

  • Fascinating, historical and sexy!

  • I read this book in high school and couldn't find it again. Then I found it in ebook, IT is just as good as I remembered, A nice little historical romance. There is not much character development and some character changes seem forced. But it is well written and is sweet. A good book if you don't want to think.

  • Puts you in England. And Scotland and compares two different cultures in those times. Nice romance and adventure with a bit of detective work thrown in.

  • Good story as usual

  • Love her books

  • Story line was to my liking. Read until I finished the book. This is a one sitting read for me.

  • I tear this every year. Love the quirky characters. The crumbling castle makes for a stunning and tragic place for this poignant and touching love story.
