Janet Evanovich (née Schneider; April 22, 1943) is an American writer.

Home Janet Evanovich Foul Play. I loved working with children, but I needed something with more personal freedo. ore action. That rotten new manager hadn’t even given her a chance to say good-bye. The idea for a TV show came to me in the middle of the night. I woke up in a sweat, thinking, holy cow, wouldn’t it be great to entertain hundreds of kids at a time instead of just twenty-five! So, the next day I got dressed up in my clown suit and marched into the studio. She couldn’t believe he’d even been hired.

But her early works are really fluffy and just okay.

As I have previously mentioned, I love Janet Evanovich. But her early works are really fluffy and just okay. The premise of the book is a young woman named Amy gets fired from her job as Lulu the Clown because the new program director replaces her with a rooster.

She could see them through the window in the clinic waiting room. They were sitting in their van, drinking soda, doing crossword puzzles. She was living in a goldfish bowl. She was living in a goldfish bowl ad weasely little men following her around, waiting for her to say the wrong thing, waiting for her to make the wrong move. A shiver ran down her spine. She watched Jake come chugging into the lot and breathed a sigh of relief. Jake, the trusty dispeller of gloom and doom. The knight of the breakfast table. Slayer of dragons and rude newsmen.

When Janet Evanovich became a mother, she saw it fit to become a housewife and raise her children up by herself. When she hit the thirties, she began the journey of writing novels. She finally got a hold of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when her second romance novel attracted a publisher. Thereafter, she began establishing herself as a prolific author and luckily success was on her side.

  • Easy reading with a feel good outlook. Quickly paced with inventive storyline that doesn’t drag. Janet Evanovich should write more of these as well as her Stephanie Plum series.

  • Always fun romantic story from Janet Evanovich. Great characters. It feels good to now that everything always works out in the end of Janet Evanovich's stories. Just a fun "listen" while driving.

  • Janet Evanovich makes you laugh out loud, and everyone around you give you strange looks for doing so. Highly recommend her books. Check out her series too!

  • Her books other than the numbered books are only "like" because they just don't have the oomph!, the "punch", that her numbered books possess. Don't ask me why, but they just don't. And her love stories suck! She should stick to her regular numbered books, unless she can come up with characters who are as equally enchanting. Even her story lines aren't as good in these un-numbered books. I wonder why.

  • This is one very. very talented writer. I am addicted to her books. Her characters are wonderfully drawn and thoroughly likable. Reading this book is like a day at the amusement park -- pure enjoyment.

  • You would never guess that a writer could take the case of a missing rooster and make it into a romantic comedy that will have you giggling all to yourself, but that's exactly what Janet Evanovich has done. If you are looking for a lighthearted book to read this exactly what you are searching for.

  • Not funny, I don't like romantic novels, I was looking for something like Stephanie plum with mystery. No essence or a real story

  • Great book! Light reading, and fun! Exactly what I was looking for!
