  • This was a very enjoyable story. I find the experience that David had when he died on the operating table to be delightful and so convincing because I have heard these stories before. Valerie and Colby were soul mates and no matter the difficulties they have to iron out it can be done when you love someone that deeply. It should be very interesting when Valerie gets pregnant which I fell will be shortly after they marry after all she is already thirty one and he thirty six. Looking forward to the next story and Debbie Macomber never disappoints me.

  • Business Executive Valerie rushes back to her hometown of Orchard Valley to visit
her father, who is ill in the hospital where she meets her sister Norah, where they
are still awaiting the arrival of their other sister Steffie. There Norah introduces to
the doctor on call, Colby. They butt heads at first, but they simply want the best for
her father. Soon they feel an attraction, but know that nothing between them can
last. But why is their father saying that all of the sisters will be married and that
Valerie will marry Colby?? Read and find out. Must read.

  • I loved this book. When I got half way through this book I realized I have read this before and loved it then but could not rate it then. Now you have it. Read it in 3days had to eat and sleep.
What a wonderful story of love that actually can happen.
Debbie you have not failed to make me feel good reading your books.

  • When Valerie's father has a heart attack, Valerie returns home to see him. She meets her fate, according to her dad, when she meets her dad's doctor. She and Colby believe they have nothing in common. Will they give up on love or except their Destiny? Read the book and see for yourself.

  • A great story about the importance of love within a family.
Love between sisters, their father, and even the undying gratitude all have for the family doctor. A wonderful romance that almost doesn't happen and why are great secondary themes meant to make the reader think.

  • There are times when I love to read Debbie Macomber. You know there's going to be a happy ending eventually, and I always enjoy the twists and turns it takes to move the interesting characters in that direction. This book is another Macomber Classic and I'd recommend it to those who enjoy these kinds of stories.

  • Valerie is the oldest sister of Steffanie and Norah. Valerie a powerful VP returns home because her father has a heart attack, will he live? It depends on Colby his heart surgeon and on her fathers will to live. This is a powerful story of overcoming preconceived ideas about love, life and survival. It is a heartwarming story written by one of the most loved storytellers Debbie Macomber and I know you will love this story.

  • I was very disappointed in this book. The characters were weak, the plot contrived, and it just wasn't entertaining. Fortunately, it was not an expensive book but I still wasted my money in buying it. I've read other Macomber books so I know that she's a formula writer but still, this one was beyond the pale.

There are better books out there but in the mire of poorly written material available now on Kindle they're hard to find. My advice is to keep looking.
