  • Sometimes there are no words. You just know that this one is a keeper. I'll be reading it again ... and again.

  • I really liked this book and all four of the main characters. I was sorry when I finished the book because I enjoyed spending time with the characters. I liked that there wasn't page after page of detailed, explicit sex; my own imagination works fine!

  • On Valentine's Day, management consultant Natalie Fanshaw is working temporarily at a resort hotel on the beach in Orca Bay, California. She stops at the Driftwood Bar and Grill where she meets bartender Johnny "Hot Johnny" Santini; known for his orgasm inducing cocktails. Lonely, she decides to taste Hot Johnny that night.

As they spend the evening together, the bartender and the consultant heat up the sheets. However, comes morning she will return to prim and proper Natalie and he will return to Hot Jonny. Compromise between them to begin forging a relationship beyond a one night stand seems impossible though both desperately crave a second and third and fourth, etc. round.

UNDER THE INFLUENCE is a fabulous torrid contemporary romance starring two opposites in every way except for their attraction. He is "blue crush" known for his "screaming orgasms", "one sex on the beach" and a roll between the sheets; she is a consultant who knows about Hot Johnny and cold Natalie. Although a late spin re his background takes away some of the edge of opposites attract, fans will enjoy Nancy Warrens cocktail of love.

  • Natalie Fenshaw forgot it was Valentine's Day. When the sexy bartender reminds her she has thoughts about more than work.

Johnny Santini mixes a mean drink and Natalie wants a taste. Natalie throws caution to the wind for a little fun in the sun.

Under the Influence is a yummy concoction that left me a little buzzed. Nancy Warren can influence me anytime she wants to. Natalie is so uptight and she just needs to relax a little. Johnny is just the person to help her, but he gets more then he bargains for. The great thing about Under the Influence is you get a twofer with Johnny's best friend and his girl.

Under the Influence had me so drunk on love and laughter that I have to Joyfully Recommend everyone get a little tipsy.

  • The story isn't all that "HOT", there are various sex scenes but nothing out of the ordinary, no vivid descriptions.

There are actually 2 romance in the one story, Johnny and Natalie are the primary couple. Opposites attract and they eventually find a way to be together. There isn't much of a connection or disconnection. It's more "He's cute, she's interested, put them together and figure out how they can live in the same place..the end"

So why 4 stars? The secondary romance. Rita (Johnny's competitor) is a bartender, Ben (Johnny's best friend) is a contractor. They have a much better story, you get to know their characters, their background, what makes them who they are. The author would have had a great book if she had concentrated on that couple. As is their story, albeit short, is much more involving.

  • This is my go-to book to give to people who say they never read Romance (in "that" tone of voice). Nancy Warren really delivers in this book and the hero breaks the mould of the stereotypical romance novel hero. Naturally, we fall in love with him and really, really want our heroine to get together with him. In fact, if I could find him I'd go for him myself . . .
