Bachelor Father book. I wasn't anticipating any surprises when I picked up Bachelor Father by author Jean C. Gordon. As with many a romance tale, I could tell "Molly. Parenting isn't as cut and dried as that. You don't like or dislike it, as you might like or dislike jazz or cold weather.

  • Bachelor Father is a wonderful story, and is especially endearing to those who have adopted, or are considering adoption.

I quickly identified with Molly Hennessey . . . in my job, it’s easy to see both sides of the story. Most of the time, rules have to be followed explicitly; thankfully, sometimes a supervisor can bend a rule just a little — enough to help the person on the other side to work things out.

This is the position Brent Cahill is in. He needs a rule bent just enough to work things out.

For many years, I would have loved to adopt . . . but the financial aspect — and then the lack of a Dad in the home — was the determining factor in my life. But I wish it had worked out. After all, children are a blessing (at least that’s the viewpoint in our home).

Back to the story . . . I can’t reveal much else; if I do, I might spoil it for you. But take it from me — you should read Molly and Brent’s story (warning: you might need a tissue or two).

Don’t miss out on this wonderful novel.

    Happy Reading!

  • I have not read anything from this author until now and all I can say is WOW ,I placed my pre-order in for the next book in the series! This is about a beautiful little Korean boy Jake who has gone through a lot in his two and a half years of life. First he was place in an adoption home, then the couple who where almost ready to sign papers for him died in an accident. Brett Cahill is the single Uncle who was willed guardianship of Jake, but now Korean Child Welfare are making trouble for Brett. Molly Hennesey has been given Susan Green’s case files because Susan has gone on maternity leave , Molly has her own problem with her family. Will Jake be able to bring these two ‘ hurting ‘ people together ? Will Brett get to adopt Jake and how ? I was gifted a copy for an honest review [email protected]

  • Bachelor Father by Jean C. Gordon is a fun and fast read. Ms Gordon has delivered a well written book. Brett and Molly's story is filled with drama, humor, lovable characters and spice. I enjoyed Bachelor Father and look forward to reading more from Jean C. Gordon in the future. Bachelor Father is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

  • Molly's new job was handling international adoptions. She loved the placement of needy children with parents who really wanted them. When Brett's sister & her husband were killed they were in the process of adopting Jake, a 2-1/2 year old from Korea. They had already named Brett guardian before their accident. Brett was a bachelor, but fell in love with the active toddler! Can Molly & Brett come to some agreement so they both get what each wants & needs? What stipulation has Molly's mother placed on her receiving the trust fund? This is a sweet love story that I'd recommend!

  • Bachelor Father was a quick inspirational story. Brett was single. He had been made guardian of his sister and brother-in-law’s soon to be adopted Korean son, Jake, following their death. Unfortunately the Korean Welfare did not have single parents in their adoption policy. Molly, the caseworker, is stepping in to intervene. Will Molly bend the rules when she sees the love and bond Brett has formed with Jake? For an inspirational inspired book I was surprised by a few of the swear words in the book. Otherwise, an enjoyable read.

  • This is not Christian Fiction, which is what it was advertised as. I found offensive a couple of times the swear words and then the main characters were drinking. If it were a Christian fiction book it would get 3 stars because of that. What I found however is that it was a sweet romance. I loved the story line and the tender story of Jake's adoption. I fell in love with Jake. As a Sweet romance I would give it a 4.5 so overall because of the two instances of swear words I gave it a 4.

  • A beautiful story of a woman who works in adoption and as she herself had been quite neglected by her mother, sceptical of man who is willing to take on the care of a 3-year old, after his sister and brother-in-law died in a car crash.
Little by little she sees the good in Bratt and his deep love and devotion for his nephew. Together they fight for Bratt to be able to keep Jake and adopt him.

  • Molly was a case worker. Brett was taking care of his nephew since his sister and her husband died. Jake was from Korea so it was interesting to learn about the adoption process when Brett started to adopt Jake. The problems concerning the adoption were handled well. I won't say more as I don't want to spoil the story. I highly recommend it.
