Slow burn is an excellent read. I have read of all of Heather Graham's bboks and once again, this is top notch. David's love for Spencer is for all time. Graham makes him come to life and he is very realistic. what you would expect of a virile Latin male. I could fall in love with him. Spencer is feisty and has gumption. although it is a bit sad, the ending makes it all worthwhile. If you're into romantic suspense, the villian is not too hard to figure out. it's a definite must read.

After the brutal murder of her husband, Spencer Huntington turns to her husband's former partner, ex-cop David Delgado, for solace, safety, and love, in a tale of passion and mystery set against Miami's glittering Gold Coast high society
  • I thought this book was an easy read and enjoyable. I liked the twist at the end of it. Some critics say that the characters weren't described enough, but I felt if you read it thoroughly, you got to know them and their personalities. The 'perfect' blonde was having some issues with her husband's recent death and rekindling with her old boyfriend. I did not find that unbelievable as some critics said. If you have gone through death, you can understand how the mind works. It is a fast and easy book to read in a day or two - depending on how much time you have to read.

  • I love Heather Graham's books. This one wasn't my favorite. In my view Spencer was mistreated and misunderstood throughout the story. She never had an opportunity to be heard. Her love interest David wasn't very likeable, but an immature jerk. I will say it was well written just didn't enjoy characters so much.

  • Her husband was murdered, and she had fallen in love with his best friend. Again. Set in South Florida, in Coconut Grove. Well written, with interesting plot twists. Originally published in 1994.

  • As usual, I thoroughly enjoy anything that Heather Graham writes.

  • Heartbreaking and uplifting. An excellent mystery!

  • Love this book. I read it years ago when it first came out, and just read it again recently. It still holds up.

  • She is always a great read! Never disappointed????

  • Enjoyable easy read. Great for the genre.
