It's a miracle they're relatedApart from being sisters and living in Dublin, Nessa, Cate, and Bree Driscoll couldn't be more different.

Abbey Andersen's life in San Francisco is in serious danger of hitting a rut. She's pretty sure it doesn't get worse than being dumped by post-it note, and her current job is hardly the best outlet for her creative talents. It's a miracle they're relatedApart from being sisters and living in Dublin, Nessa, Cate, and Bree Driscoll couldn't be more different. Nessa's the happy homemaker, tending to her doting husband Adam and little girl Jill and boasting of marital bliss.

Sheila O'Flanagan's CONNECTIONS transports her readers to the Caribbean island resort of White Sands, where visitors arrive hoping their dreams will come true - and they sometimes do. Not to be missed by readers of Veronica Henry and Freya North. In touching, poignant and delicious tales of life by the ocean, the holiday doesn't quite turn out as planned for the resort's guests

com's Sheila O'Flanagan Author Page. In most of my books, I put women in situations where they have to dig deep inside themselves to find their inner strength even though sometimes they struggle to realise it's there. Readers often ask who my favourite characters are, but every one of the women in my books is as close to me as a member of my family. For the time when I'm writing a book they're even closer because they're in my head 24/7. At least with the family I can put the phone down!)

  • On a whole I love reading Sheila O'Flanagan books but in this book there were too many stories. I like a book I can pick up anytime and enjoy it. I will still buy her books but was disappointed with this one

  • Enjoyed the read, but not as much as the last one I read, that was "The things we never say".

  • This was an awesome read, with many different stories. I loved the way she was able to link it to one story, hence the name, connections.

  • Lovely, relaxing "get away from it all" book.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this book :)

  • I read this book while cruising the Caribbean. It reminded me a lot of Maeve Binchy's style (I mean this as a huge complement to the author). The similarities go beyond all the Irish-isms; characters from all different walks of life have their own short story, and there's one common thread that binds them. I love how it all meshed together against the backdrop of this upscale resort on Paradise Island. The descriptive style of writing, the variety of subplots (one for each chapter), and the depth of character development makes this story a fun and interesting read!
