  • I really loved this story. It starts in New Zealand with Jennifer living with the children from her adoptive family under the harsh rule of a rich woman. Mrs Murchison only tolerated young Meg and Robin because she wanted the eldest boy Mac who reminded her of his father who she fancied years ago. Jennifer, who was adopted by Mac's family from a Glasgow orphanage at eleven she treats like a servant.

When Mac rebels they must fend for themselves but fortunately an aunt leaves them a Bed and Breakfast in Scotland. Returning there they meet their neighbour, the famous author Gregor MacGregor. Jenny met him years ago at a fair as a young journalist and he wrote a story about her leading to her adoption and thus changing her life for the better.

Jennifer has the opportunity to return the favour but things are complicated by his selfish step-sister and his pride. This is a very sweet story of two people who are meant to be together. The ending made me quite emotional.
