Woollard also discusses how science does not validate Buddhism, but it echoes Buddhist principles. Positive psychology has evidence of the transformative impact of optimism and a daily personal training program

Woollard also discusses how science does not validate Buddhism, but it echoes Buddhist principles. Positive psychology has evidence of the transformative impact of optimism and a daily personal training program. It must be specified that so far no study has been undertaken to prove the validity of Buddhism. The truth is that so far there is no evidence refuting Nichiren's Buddhism. Arguably, the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. But it is quite remarkable that principles that are thousands of years old have stood the test of time and scientific progress.

  • I have an (almost :)) daily Buddhist practice in the Theravada tradition and because of that I've read many Buddhist books. Furthermore I have never practiced in the Nichiren tradition and I don't intend to, even after reading this book. Yet I read it and I can say it influenced my daily life in a profound way. The optimism, the down-to-earth, the factual statements rather than dogmatic views are simply amazing!
I highly recommend this book to anyone, Buddhist or not. I bought it as a present for my sister but I know I will buy many more and try to spread... happiness:)

  • I have heard the author speak and have enjoyed his talks as well.As a follower of Nichiren Buddhism, I would have enjoyed it even more if the author wrote more about the philosophy of nichiren and Buddhism and how that applies to the the science of happiness in his book. Recommended for readers who want to know more about he science of happiness in general.

  • Only William can describe Buddhism in normal terms without burdening the reader with theory.

  • A truly wonderful read! Thank you!!!

  • A very interesting book, I'd recommend it to everyone.

  • I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know,"why Buddhism?" And to anyone who is practicing, and wanting to understand why it is working. It is clear, concise and entertaining.

  • Fundamentals to live a complete and happy life, no matter your religious beliefs. Engaging quick-read full of content. Highly recommended!
